This session hosted by Univ Silesia in Katowice. It was chaired by Adv Magdalena Stryja (Legal Fellow, CISDL / Univ Silesia / Polish Supreme Bar Council).
As Paris Agreement representatives, observers and stakeholders gathered in Sharm El Sheikh for the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) from 06-18 November 2022, Climate Law & Governance Day (CLGD) 2022 convened a community of leading law faculties and law and governance institutes, international organization counsel, government authorities, law associations, judges, professionals and others responsible for inspiring, innovating and building law, policy and governance capacity, entirely online.
Co-hosted by the prestigious Egyptian Ain Shams University in Cairo and the University of Cambridge in the UK, CLGD 2022 follows on key preparatory events, including the international academic conference on legal aspects of sustainable development including climate change response hosted by Ain Shams University on 05 November 2022 in Cairo, Egypt; the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law Conference on 03-06 October 2022 in Oslo, Norway; and an official side event, consultations and a legal experts roundtable during 56th session of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Bodies from 6- 16 June 2022 in Bonn, Germany.
