The U.S. and U.K. with support from several other nations conducted strikes against Houthi facilities in Yemen.
This is in response to attacks on Red Sea shipping. The attacks took place at about 6:30 EST.
While the strike were conducted from air, surface and subsurface platforms a particular assets is thought to have played a key role - its the USS Florida.
Viewers may note that the submarine seen entering the Red Sea via the Suez Canal on Nov. 5, a move publicized by U.S. Central Command.
US President Joe Biden stated,
"at my direction, U.S. military forces -- together with the United Kingdom and with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands -- successfully conducted strikes against a number of targets in Yemen used by Houthi rebels to endanger freedom of navigation in one of the world's most vital waterways"

It is being termed a Long Range Anti Ship Hypersonic Missile (LRAShM) given the absence of any other known nomenclature for the missile family.
The government added, "The flight data ... confirmed the successful terminal maneuvers and impact with high degree of accuracy”.
The test-firing took place from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam island off the eastern coast of Odisha state
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called the test a "historic achievement" in a post on X and congratulated “DRDO, armed forces, and industry for stupendous achievement”.

The strike package included 6 Kh-101 cruise missiles, one Kinzhal hypersonic missile, and an unknown missile which was later designated as - Oreshnik.
A US official confirmed, “The United States was pre-notified briefly before the launch”. It was done since it could have been mistaken for a nuclear strike.

According to the Missile Defense Agency., the Defense Department’s advanced missile tracking satellites logged their first views of a hypersonic flight test.
Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS) satellites were able to track a hypersonic system.
MDA didn’t disclose the date of the flight, which took off from Wallops Island in Virginia.
The agency said in a June 14 statement, “Initial reports show the sensors successfully collected data after launch. MDA will continue to assess flight data over the next several weeks.”
Viewers may note, that the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and Space Development Agency (SDA) are actively working on components of a hypersonic missile defense system to protect against hypersonic weapons and other emerging missile threats. This includes developing the tracking and transport layers of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) and various interceptor programs.

This is in response to attacks on Red Sea shipping. The attacks took place at about 6:30 EST.
While the strike were conducted from air, surface and subsurface platforms a particular assets is thought to have played a key role - its the USS Florida.
Viewers may note that the submarine seen entering the Red Sea via the Suez Canal on Nov. 5, a move publicized by U.S. Central Command.
US President Joe Biden stated,

,1,A climate protester was caught in a wild video being bum-rushed off stage and tackled to the ground as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis spoke at a presidential campaign event in Iowa.
DeSantis was speaking to hundreds of people at a BBQ restaurant in Ames on Thursday evening when three activists apparently from the Sunrise Movement shouted at him and accused him of taking money from the fossil fuel industry.
“Excuse me, hold on. Excuse me, I’m doing this,” DeSantis snapped at the interruption. “I know you have an agenda. Stop!”
The GOP presidential candidate told the crowd that the protester wants people to “pay more for gas.”
“We’re not going to let people like that win,” he said to cheers.

Attacking in deadly, coordinated wolf packs,these stealthy vessels cut swath through Allied shipping convoys in the north Atlantic, threatening to sever Britain’s vital lifeline to North America and starve the island nation into submission. But this “happy time” -as U-boat crews called it -was not to last, for by 1943 major developments in Allied naval technology and tactics -from radar and sonar to escort carriers and long-range patrol aircraft -had succeeded in turning the tide, putting the once-feared U-boat arm firmly on the back foot. Meanwhile, the German surface fleet -never large to begin with -remained largely bottled up in port, its commanders hesitant to commit their expensive capital ships to battle. With the Allies pushing into mainland Europe -first in Italy, then in France -theGerman Navy began to look increasingly irrelevant. In response to this changing strategic situation, the Kriegsmarinedecided to switch gears and think small, deploying a variety of bizarre miniature attack craft from human torpedoes and midget submarinesto frogmen and explosive, remote-control motorboats. While certainly creative, the combat performance of these weapons of desperation was less than impressive, and ultimately had little impact on the course of the war. This is the story of Nazi Germany’s hilariously awful Naval Special Forces.

,1,This video shows a section from a 3D simulation with a dynamo magnetic field at a resolution of 5 kilometres. The section is taken near the base of the chromosphere, where the flow is dominated by shock waves. The part on the left shows the vertical velocity of the plasma; the video on the right shows the magnetic field. In both representations, bright regions indicate flows towards the viewer; black regions are flows towards the Sun’s interior. In this side-by-side view, the connection between the magnetic field and the plasma becomes apparent, for instance when looking at the vortexes forming near the upper edge of the section. Such vortexes are, in fact, facilitating heat transfer from the magnetic field to the plasma, as the simulation results showed. Video credit: E. Khomenko
