,1,The US military has launched scores of air strikes against targets used by Iran-linked militias in Syria and Iraq. The strikes come days after the US Secretary of Defense said the President "will not tolerate" attacks on US troops.
The Pentagon said that the airstrikes occurred over a period of about 30 minutes and targeted three facilities in Iraq and four in Syria. The attacks took place around midnight local time in what is being called as the first of multiple attacks against the groups.
US President Joe Biden said that the strikes were carried out “at my direction”, adding that targets used by IRGC and affiliated militia were struck.
