Since 1992, every American president bar one has been a white man born in the 1940s. That run looks likely to span 36 years - not far off the age of the median American. This cohort was born with aces in their pockets. Their parents defeated Nazism and won the cold war. They hit the jobs market at an unmatched period of wealth creation. They have benefitted from giant leaps in technology, and in racial and gender equality.
And yet, their last act in politics sees the two main parties accusing each other of wrecking American democracy. As the boomers near the end of their political journey, John Prideaux sets out to make sense of their inheritance and their legacy.

The Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has also referred the managers of these travel firms to the public prosecutor’s office, as per the cabinet. The crackdown came after reports emerged of hundreds of people dying during the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. Most of these deaths have been attributed to extreme heat as temperatures soared past 51 degrees Celsius. An AFP tally on June 21, compiling official statements and reports from diplomats, put the toll at 1,126, with 658 of them from Egypt. Meanwhile, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has ordered that a "crisis cell" headed by Madbouly follow up on the deaths of the pilgrims.

,1,Iran claims to have simultaneously launched three satellites successfully into orbit for the first time. According to state media reports on Jan. 28, the satellites were launched using the Simorgh (Phoenix) satellite carrier rocket. The Simorgh rocket is an indigenous space product, developed by Iran’s Ministry of Defence. Iran’s satellites have gone into orbit with a minimum altitude of 450 km and a maximum of 1,100 km above the Earth's surface, as per Iranian media. The Mahda, Keyhan-2 and Hatef-1 satellites were launched from Imam Khomeini Space Launch Terminal in Semnan Province. Watch the video to find out more.

Haley’s super PAC has said she plans to stay in at least until the February primary in her home state of South Carolina. Nikki Haley indicated she intends to continue her campaign despite her defeat to Donald Trump in the New Hampshire primary.
