,1,Israel will have full control over Rafah in a “couple weeks,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Monday, as fighting in the city surpasses the 40 day mark.
The Israeli military added that at least 550 terrorist gunmen have been killed so far in the Rafah operation, during which time Israel has taken control of the border crossing with Egypt and the Philadelphi Corridor.
The IDF explained that it also found at least two dozen “long” tunnels underneath Rafah that reach the Egyptian border and discovered countless weapons, including some this week inside of a mosque.
The official war between Israel and Hamas began following the terrorist group’s surprise attack on Israel on Oct. 7, killing more than 1,200 people and leaving more than 250 people as hostages.
While discussions continue between both sides for a potential ceasefire and hostage release deal, there are no promising signs of an approval anytime soon.
All of this comes as tensions escalate in the north between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon with the US attempting to prevent an all-out war between the two.

,1,The Israeli army on Sunday (January 21) released footage of what it said was a tunnel discovered by Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip comprising of cramped cells where the military said Hamas kept about 20 hostages.
The video showed narrow passageways in the tunnel which the army said was a kilometre-long and rigged with blast doors and explosives. It also contained rooms behind metal bars, toilets, mattresses, pots and pans at a sink, the footage showed. No hostages were there when it was discovered, the army said.
An Israeli military spokesman said the tunnel entrance was in the house of a Hamas terrorist in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, where Israel has been focusing its fight in recent weeks.
The military released footage from the underground labyrinth and said it brought in journalists to document the tunnel before it was destroyed.

,1,As Air Force officials call for more high-tech pilot training simulators, Lockheed Martin is unveiling their plan to use off-the-shelf hardware and the same software that powers popular video games like Fortnight to make simulators that are not just more affordable, but significantly more realistic to boot.
Last week, we traveled to Lockheed Martin’s Training and Logistics Solutions facility in Orlando, Florida to be among the first to get to poke around this new fighter jet training simulator that they’ve taken to calling AMAZE — short for Amorphic Appearance Zero-Projector. This system replaces the (sometimes dozens of) projectors used to power today’s military flight simulators with LED technology. This transition, Lockheed Martin officials tell us, can reduce operating costs by more than a third while occupying a significantly smaller footprint, allowing for more simulators in each training environment.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump railed against a series of indictments against him on Tuesday (August 08), telling supporters in New Hampshire that the charges were “bullshit” and calling those behind them “sick".
Trump also vowed to keep talking about the indictments, even as his attorneys clashed with prosecutors in Washington D.C. over a motion to stop Trump from sharing evidence in the case.
On Monday (August 07), Trump's defense team opposed a request from prosecutors for U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan to impose a protective order to ensure confidential evidence is not shared publicly by Trump, suggesting he could use the information to intimidate witnesses.
Trump’s comments come as he faces a possible fourth indictment, this time in the state of Georgia, where Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is wrapping up a probe of attempts to overturn his 2020 election defeat in the politically competitive state that Trump lost.
