,1,Northern Ireland’s government was restored on Saturday exactly two years to the day it collapsed.
The assembly returned to the parliament in Belfast where its top order of business was to name the Sinn Féin Irish nationalist party’s Michelle O’Neill as first minister, marking a historic shift for the UK-controlled country.
O’Neill is the party’s first-ever first minister and her appointment is considered symbolic for Irish nationalism.
“This is a day of historic change,” O’Neill posted on X on Saturday. “As a First Minister for all, I am determined to work together with all parties to deliver for workers, families and all our communities,” she added.
The recall came after a deal that ended the pro-British Democratic Unionist Party’s two year-boycott over Brexit trade rules.

In this amazing study the Dutch researchers used muscle biopsies in the long COVID patients suffering from post-exertional malaise. They found that the muscle phenotype had changed resulting in lower excercise capacity. They also found mitochondrial function issues, and local amyloid accumulation. Macrophages and CD3+ T cells were also infiltrated in the muscle tissues. Let's review.

,1,Armored vehicles rammed the doors of Bolivia’s government palace Wednesday in an apparent coup attempt against President Luis Arce, but he vowed to stand firm and named a new army commander who ordered troops to stand down.
The soldiers later pulled back as supporters of Arce waved Bolivian flags and cheered in a central square.
In a video of Arce surrounded by ministers in the palace, the Bolivian leader said: “Here we are, firm in Casa Grande, to confront any coup attempt. We need the Bolivian people to organize.”
Arce confronted the general commander of the army — Juan José Zúñiga, who appeared to be leading the rebellion — in the palace hallway, as shown on video on Bolivian television. “I am your captain, and I order you to withdraw your soldiers, and I will not allow this insubordination,” Arce said.
